Jackson Hole

So this past week we headed up to Jackson Hole with my family.  We had been super excited for this trip.  Jackson in the Fall is unbeatable!  Well, during the trip we kept feeling like we were snake bitten, if that is even what you would call it:).
1st Snake Bite:  it snowed.  I know that it snowed in Utah, but I mean really.  We were planning on biking, hiking, canoeing, and just enjoying the fall.  So the snow
seemed that it would put a damper on that..... turned out we had a great time regardless of this first snake bite.

2nd Snake Bite:  We were so excited to go to Yellowstone.  We had been excited to go show Dani how the Everton's do Yellowstone (minus my mom and Alec, they don't love the way we do
yellowstone:)).  Well, we get to the park and it is closed, yep closed!  Super lame.

3rd Snake Bite: which lets be honest was not that big of a deal, but it just seamed to be par for the course for this trip.  After a long day in the car, we decided to go and grab some pizza from Pizza Hut, but don't you worry, it was closed as well.  Yep, closed on the only day that we wanted it.
We laughed pretty hard, and then went and got pizza from Mountain High Pizza Pie, which was super yummy just loads more expensive.

4th, and last snake bite of the trip: Our "bear" road kept closing due to too much bear activity.  Yeah, I mean really, that is exactly what we want to go on that road for.  We were all quite irritated
at the rangers for continuing to shut the road down.  They kept telling us that
bear 611 and her cubs were on the road and it was to dangerous to go.  Oh my word, we were irritated, we wanted to see the grizzly.  Overall, this was not that big of a deal, we still saw a few bears and tons of moose!

So enough about the things that we perceived as going wrong, here is all the fun that we did have.  So the fall is a perfect time to see the wild life.  If you know where to go you will for sure see bears and bull moose.  And due to snake bite #1, the wild life was forced even further down, so we were lucky to see even more than usual.  The bull moose were incredible.  Some people taking pictures of the bull moose.... stupid!  Some people don't realize how dangerous moose are I guess.

Everybody getting there shot of the bear.

On Wed, we figured it was probably going to be our only day to bike.  For breakfast we headed over the pass to the yummiest breakfast place ever.... Sun Dog in Victor Idaho.  The best (we drove over the pass twice to eat here during our trip).  They have the yummiest hot coco (chocolate homemade marshmallows, yep homemade), in fact everything there is amazing!
After Sun Dog we went and grabbed our bikes and went to the top of the pass to ride it down.  We found a new way to go down.  Note to self, if you already know of an amazing trail, don't try a new one.  Alec took us to the top and was waiting for us at the bottom (he was super sick, you know it is bad when he chooses not to bike).  Well, a bike ride that was supposed to take us a hour or two ended up taking us 4 +.  So this trail was for professionals only, I swear, I don't know anybody in there right mind that would ride that thing all the way.  It was insane, like really insane.  Plus it did not help that it was raining, hailing, and just down right freezing.  We made it, all of us took a few falls, but we all made it out in one piece.

The rest of the trip our trip consisted of.......
not making it into yellowstone, so driving around Jenny's Lake and loving how pretty it was

 going to BYU-I

driving around looking at the awesome trees with the snow

going on one of our favorite hikes in Jackson (after the weather finally cleared a little)

Driving through loads of puddles:)

going to the haunted mill with the family (ok if you are in the Rexburg area, you need to go to this haunted house, it is only 10 bucks and very worth it!)

Driving, Driving, and more driving

We had a great trip, even with all the snake bites, it was a fabulous and fun trip!
