Christmas 2011

We had a great Christmas this year!!!  The only thing that it needed was.... SNOW!  But I have to say if we are not going to have snow, I am glad that it was warm enough to be outside
without freezing our booties off!!
Christmas snuck up on us this year.  In some ways it could not come soon enough, and in others it was here before we knew it.
We woke up Christmas Eve morning and headed to the Original Pancake House in Sugarhouse for brunch.  We met the rest of my family ( well all those that did not have the Christmas bug this year, which was a bad one might I add, started with strep throat and then the flu big time... glad I did not get it, but felt bad for those that did).  It was super yummy, all those who have not been there, should try it out. If I have any advice though, get pancakes.... it is a pancake house after all.
We spent all of Christmas Eve with my family and enjoyed our dinner of delicious soups and appetizers that my mom made!

Then we opened our pj's, I was told I looked like a candy cane.  But whatever, I liked my pj's.
So for Christmas this year, Alec got me this cute little puppy!!  He is so cute!  He is a pain (the training part), but in the week we have had him he has gotten 100% better at everything.  We decided to name him Jax.  We were going to do Jackson since that is our favorite place to go, but decided that was to long so we just shortened it to Jax.

Alec and my parents also spoiled me this Christmas... big time.  Alec got me this Arcteryx jacket that I had been drooling over that we had got my dad, and then he and my parents got me some AT (alpine touring) bindings for my skies so I can go back country skiing with them (I HATE being left home and left out), it was a TOTAL surprise!
So I have NEVER EVER, in the 7 years we have been married been able to surprise Alec with anything.  I always end up telling him.  I get excited and just tell him.  For example on his b.day, I got him these rainbow flip flops that were grey that I was super excited about.  I had them delivered to my work so he would not get the package.  Well, since he picks me up from work everyday, I just could not wait until his actual bday to give them to him.  The minute I got in the car I MADE him open them.  Well, not this Christmas.  I was determined to surprise him and if it was not for my Dad I am sure I would have ended up telling him.  So this year I got him a GoPro Hero 2 camera.  I was SO excited and I was hoping he would be to.  Well, I ended up keeping it a secret and he was so excited.  Now we just need some snow so he can try it out.

I just love this picture for some reason.  They are all just smiling at something they got or something that they gave.  And the best part.... Alec is wearing his camera.  He did not take it off all day.  It was really funny.  Little boy at heart!

Well, our Christmas was awesome this year.  Very few things could have been different.  Just a great time spending time with family.
We hope you all had a very merry Christmas as well!
