Five for Friday!

Well, I can't believe that another week is gone.  Time is flying by.  Well not too much excitement this week.  Just getting excited to see family over the holiday's.  So here are a few things that we did this week
1. We found out my brothers release date from his mission!:)  He is getting released on May 28th.  I am so excited.  I know that it is more than 6 months away, but I am super excited to see him.  It will be fun to hear all of his stories.  He writes a letter ever week, but lets be honest, they don't give too much detail:).
2. So on Monday night I had my "last treats night".  I know this sounds weird, but I decided to go off sweets for at least 4 months (minus vacation:)).  I am a super duper lover of sweets!  Alec calls me his little bird because I am always like "treats, treats" (kind of like "tweet, tweet), anyways:)  I thought I would give this a try.  So on Monday night I went and got two of my favorite treats before I went off.  I have never really been like a total donut lover, but Chucks are the best!!!  I love their coconut one and their french twist looking one, yummy.  So Chucks was our first stop.  I was pretty sweeted out after our donuts but new this would be my last chance at a Jeffrey's shake for awhile so I pushed through my being sweeted out and got a yummy shake at Jeffrey's that I split with Alec.  So thus far the no sweet thing is going well, except for the fact that we got the peppermint bark things at Costco and they are sitting on top of the fridge, just waiting for me to have one, but oh well!!!:)

3.  Is their a better blog worthy moment than filling your gas tank for under $30???  We were pretty excited about this, as you can tell by the pictures.  Gas at this gas station was like $1.97, so we could fill our tank up for under $30.  It was AWESOME!!!  So gas was at almost $5 a gallon when I was driving 70 miles a day to school and back, but now that I am really not even driving my car at all it has gone back under $2.......... it is funny how things work!:)
 4.  So I have been in an organizing mood lately.  I first started with organizing my closet by color:) and throwing away some stuff I don't wear anymore which is always fun.  So the other day I decided to do like a deep clean to the bathroom.  I was spraying lysol everywhere, thus the mask and glasses.  The house smelled like lysol for like a whole day!  It always feels nice to get things really clean though.  Today is getting my bedroom completely organized, wahoo!:)

5.  So the last one for the week, is that I FINALLY after 4 years of marriage made something that when Alec took a bite of it, his eyes lit up and he was like "this is so good".  Yes, I am very proud of myself.  He is always nice about my cooking and he always eats it, but this time I could tell he meant it when he said it was good:), usually I think he is just saying it to be nice!:)  I am not a cook, at all, in Young Women's, when we do a cooking night the girls are teaching me how to cook, not the other way around.  So needless to say I was pretty excited when I made these chimichangas.  I got the recipe off of the food network channel.  They were pretty yummy and they are not even bad heated up.  They were a bit spicy, so next time I make them I won't put as much spice in them, but they were still good:).

So there you are five random things for the first week in December:)  Now I am just praying for snow in Utah and WY for Christmas!:)

I'm impressed you're going off sweets for so long. Good luck!!!

I'm lucky if I can go off sweets for more than 4 hours.
