So for the past week we have been up in Jackson Hole for our annual Jim Everton family reunion. It literally rained the entire week, but we had a BLAST just the same!
So Tuesday we all got up there at different times. Apparently that was the best day to see the Tetons, but Alec and I got up there to late because I was working, so we missed them
WED: We went on a hike up to Phelps lake. We have been up to Phelps a bunch of times, but this time we went a different way. It was so pretty. This was led us directly to the lake whereas most of the time we have ended up at an overlook. We all hiked into the lake and then some went back to go swimming and my dad, Mike, and I decided to walk around the lake instead.
The first picture is all of us in our Everton 09 shirts. The only thing is, is that we wish the Tetons would have not been covered in the back ground!
Nate loved the pool. Apparently he was all about the big slide.
Here are a "few" pics from the hike we went on. The rain held off pretty well for most of the time, we just got sprinkled on a few times.
The moose were also out in full force that day! I love the picture below of the moose. It was going through the river to get to its calf. It was awesome!
THURS: So Thursday we decided to go to good ol' Yellowstone!! Most of us love Yellowstone, but a few don't, Alec to name one:), so he went on a hike with his buddy Dustin instead.
We had a great time in Yellowstone. We were all trying our hardest to spot a bear. We stopped at Fisherman's bridge for lunch and rode bikes around and then we headed over to Yellowstone canyon. At the end of the day we finally came across a bear spotting, but we only got a quick glimps of the bear and it was pretty far away!
FRIDAY: Friday ended up being a bike day for us all. A few of us decided to head up and go mountain biking up near Snow King. Oh my gosh, can you say crazy hard. It was like straight up, muddy, rocky, and cliffs on the side, but it was a complete BLAST! It literally was pouring rain, like sheets of rain most of the way up. When we reached the top though it kind of cleared up and we got a quick glimps of the the Tetons, it was awesome! I think that we all took a few falls on the way down and saw our lives flash before our eyes a few times, but I think we all had a great time. We were so muddy after, it was crazy!!
After we went mountain biking we came home and then went over to Teton park to ride our bikes on the new bike path. It was really chilly, but it was fun!
Here Annie is on one of the many falls of the trip (by everbody!) The next picture is after we are down at the bottom. I tell you what, we were pretty excited to have all made it down without injury!!!:) So the last picture is us all pointing up to where we had just rode our bikes. Can you see how muddy we got. It was a riot!
SATURDAY: We woke up Saturday and had my mom take us up to the top of the pass, also a place that we like to ski, and drop us off and we rode our bikes down and she picked us up at the bottom. After biking we all then hiked to Hidden Falls, I think this might be a favorite short hike for us all because we do it every year!
Here are a few pictures from the hike.
So this bike ride was AWESOME!!!! It was incredible! We started out going through mounds of snow and then when you got down further you were in the fog and it was the coolest ever! I think that we might have been the first on the trail this year because it had not quite been cleaned up yet from the winter. There were trees everywhere on the trail so we had to pick our bikes up and walk them over the trees. There had to have been an avalanche. It was super crazy!
SUNDAY: Sunday was a pretty relaxed day. We went into Jackson for church, took family pictures, Krissy and Steve took off, and then we went on a nice drive over to Oxbow and Jackson Lake.
It rained SO hard when we were over in Oxbow, it was totally crazy. My mom, Ash, Annie, and I stopped "moose" hunting early and took off to the car as we were getting pelted by hail. Don't you worry though, my dad, Alec, and Mike did not come back. They continued to make there way through the trees and look for Moose and Bear. Us girls in the car were super relieved when we saw them finally coming back!
Well, there is our 2009 family reunion. We had a total blast and we were so happy that everyone was able to be there!!!!!
