R.U.S.H.

This past weekend we went up to Rexburg for Alec to do the RUSH triatholon with his old roommates. He decided to do this on THURSDAY! Yes, that means he did not train.... at all, except for a swim on Thurs and on Friday. He is a crazy one. We got up to Rexburg late on Friday night, and all I have to say is I love Rexburg!!!! So we knew we were in Rexburg because it was August and it felt like the end of October. It was freezing up there! So the boys woke up and I zombie woke up at 5:30 with them to get ready to leave.
The triatholon started at 7 with the swim. Alec was the only one in board shorts. It was so funny! Mostly everyone else was in a wet suits or tight plain colored shorts. Oh well, I at least knew where Alec was.
Don't worry the pants on the ankle one is not how it looks!:):)

These are just pictures from the swim. Alec did awesome! I was super excited to see that he did not drowned due to the lack of practice.:)

Here was the transition between bike and run. Here is Alec desperatly asking me for his knee brace.

Here is Alec finishing and he finished in pretty good time he did a 1 mile swim, 26 mile bike, and a 6.2 mile run in 3 hours and 36 minutes. I was pretty impressed since he did not even run because his knee was killing him.

After the triathlon we went to Dustin's uncles to shoot marshmellows in the river. It is one of the funnest things to do. You throw the marshmellows in the river and then you try to shoot right under them and they sometimes will shoot up like 50 feet. It is a blast. We used to do this all the time when we lived in Rexburg!
Here is Alec and his old roomies standing by the horse gate at Dustin's uncles ranch. This is actually where Alec and I had our first date... oh so cute!:):):)
On our way home from the ranch there were these awesome rainbows. It was way cool because you could see the start and the finish of both.
Don't worry, what is a trip to Rexburg without a stop to Horkley's (all my fellow BYU-Idahoians will know where I am talking about). We got our cheap drink and our not so penny candy. They raised the price on the penny candy to 2 cents, can you believe it:):).

We stayed at Dustin and Danielle's over night and then Alec and I headed over to Teton Valley. Wow, it was still so pretty and green! It was fun remembering all the good times that we had when we lived there. We drove to the ladies house who we gave Brody to and guess who was outside..... you guessed it Brody. I was so sad, I wanted to take her home. I would not let Alec go up to the ladies house and see her because it made me to sad and I think I could not have resisted and would have taken her with me. So we just took a picture from the road, is she not the cutest dog you have ever seen!!!
We then went and drove all of Teton Valley. We stopped by where our condo was and wished that we still owned it. Then we drove by the Spud (local "movie theater") and then we went into Victor and then went up to Targhee after. It made me miss Teton Valley like crazy!!!!

So that was our weekend. Alec did awesome and was happy he did it and I am thinking I MIGHT give it a try next year, we shall see!
