First Ride of the year

The end of April we dusted off our bikes and headed for the Mtns.  We didn't have to go to far (one of the many reasons I love my house) and just headed out our backyard.  It was a beautiful night.  My Dad, Mike and Dani came over to bike with us as well.

I was stinking slow..... always am, but the first ride is always the hardest!

I loved loved our tulips this year.  I think next year we will plant even more though.  We had a few incidents with the deer liking them for dinner, so we have a few patches of nothing, but I just loved to come home and see them.  Now that they are gone we need to figure something to put in there place??

The day I was heading to North Carolina, Alec stayed home in the morning so we could hang out.  We decided to go on our run up the mtn behind our house.  We got no more than 5 mins from our house and this is what we saw.... yes that is a dead deer, but if you look closer you can see the bite marks and you can also see it was FRESH.  Ok, so normally Alec is like Em we are ok, stop freaking out.  When we saw this though and I recommended that we turn back, he looked and it, saw that it was fresh and was like ok, and we walked/ran very briskly away from the deer home.  Don't you worry though.  Since neither of us had our phones with us when we saw it the first time, we went home, got our phones (to take a picture), got our gun and our neighbor who we knew would want to see it and headed back to the spot.  I thought we were going to be the Mountain Lions dessert.
