Denver

Last weekend my Mom, Ashley, and I headed to Denver for one of my best friend's weddings. She was getting married on Friday, but we decided to make it a road trip and spend the weekend there. The drive was so pretty. We took I-70 and were so happy that we did because it was just breathtaking. The river was SO full and totally flooding everywhere. Well, my car decided to start acting funny in about Grand Junction. We had no idea what was going on, we just new it was being weird. It felt like it was gunning and when I would break, it did not want to very well, so I would have to press on the breaks real hear. Well, we were coming out of Veil and heading up the pass, when it decided to poop out all together. Talk about not a fun experience. So thankfully my mom had AAA and we were like 100 miles outside of Denver, so we had them come and tow us into Denver. Now that was an experience all on it's own. We made it into Denver ALIVE!:) We dropped the car off at a car place and called a taxi... I HATE taxi's they are a complete rip off. When we finally got to the hotel, we wanted to do nothing but grab dinner and go to sleep. The next morning, we went and rented a car and tried to get my car fixed. Well, luck had it that it worked fine for the mechanic so they had no reason to do anything with it. I was so frustrated! So all weekend we were nervous the car was going to die again... it never did, and it got us home! We felt very blessed.
Here is Ash holding our only food and our "life savers" as we were waiting on the side of the road for the tow truck to come.

On Thurs after getting the whole car thing worked out, we decided to head to downtown Denver and hang out. It was such a fun city! We just walked around, shopped, ate, shopped, and yes ate some more.
So on this street there are pianos everywhere for anyone to use and play. Well, Ash does not like Shrimp (even though she has never tried it), and we were heading to Bubba Gumps for dinner. We told her that if she would play a song on the piano's then we would not make her try the shrimp. Well, I thought no way in this world would she sit down and play a whole song in the middle of the city, she was going to try the shrimp. Well, not the case. She totally sat down on the piano and bust a whole song out. It was AWESOME! I don't think that I had laughed that hard in a long time! Needless to say... she did not have to try any shrimp!

After hanging out in the city all day, we decided to go and grab some coconut shrimp from Bubba Gumps, my absolute favorite! Ash did not have to try the shrimp thanks to here playing the piano, but my mom and I were in heaven!

So for the purpose of coming to Denver.... this awesome girl's wedding! She looked absolutely stunning and it was so fun to see her!

After Meg's wedding we decided to drive to Boulder. It is such a fun town! It was absolutely pouring on our way and then it continued as we were walking around. We went to the yummiest pizza place for dinner! We were all stuffed but our stomachs were happy! After dinner Ash wanted to stop at Rocky Mtn Chocolate Factory again because they had a buy one get one half of deal that she felt just could not be passed up. Much to her displeasure, we didn't take them up on there deal!:):)

Meg's reception was on Sat up at the most beautiful Lake House in Evergreen!

After the reception, we decided to shop yet again! I tell you what, I can go without shopping again for awhile. It was raining still, so we decided to head to the outlets about 25 or so minutes outside of Denver. It was fun, but we only lasted a little bit before we decided to head back to the hotel and relax.
The fun of Clair's sunglasses.......

You should have told me you were coming to Denver. Drew and I are just right outside of Denver selling pest control for the summer. Wish I could have gotten in on some of that shopping. haha We still have yet to see the sights of Denver. Looks like it was so much fun. Glad your car got you all back safe.
